We had the opportunity to spend a few minutes with David to find out why he works so hard for the seniors of the Bayou Region. Following are his responses.
Why did you choose Home Instead? During my first year of MBA school at LSU I was asked to do an internship with a company called Home Instead Senior Care in Omaha Nebraska. While I viewed the internship as a great oppurtunity to learn the world of franchising. It didnt take long to see what type of company I was working for. Home Instead Senior Care was changing the lives of seniors on a daily basis by giving them the option of remaining in their home. The true belief and vision put forward by Paul was engraned in everyone that had anything to do with the brand. It is for these reasons above that before I concluded my internship I committed to beccoming a Home Instead Owner.
What makes you different from your competitors? Our prompt response times and quality caregivers set us apart from the competition. Our one hour guarantee assures clients and referral providers that we are the solution for any need they may have ranging from 24 hour a day care in a facility to a one time discharge assistant. There is no company in our area that provides care consultations 24 hours a day and we feel by offering this service we show our dedication to our clients and their families.
What are you doing locally that can illustrate how you and HISC are an integral part of the community? We strive each and every day to be not only the best home care provider in our area, but a good corporate citizens. We participate in programs such as Be A Santa to a Senior as well as provide continuing community education to enable family caregivers to navigate the challenges of their trade.
What keeps you motivated after all this time? The look on a client or family members face as we arrive to relieve a burden they are facing is the fuel that drives me to continue in the 24 hour a day job to provide care for as many seniors as possible in our 5 parish service area.
Why did you decide to get in to the home care business? After watching the benefits “sitters” brought to my grandmother as she cared for my grandfather nearly 20 years ago I knew there had to be a way to get legitimate high quality care to those in New Iberia facing similar challenges. I knew that through an organization like Home Instead Senior Care there was an avenue to do this while partnering with the leader in home care nationwide.
